SalsaVancouver.net
to open Vancouver's
first dedicated salsa dance hall and nightclub

|
| |
For
the first time in Vancouver, salsa dancers will have
a stylish,
sophisticated and elegant place to go dancing EVERY
NIGHT of the week. |
| |
| Jennifer
Perry and Stephen Dancey of SalsaVancouver.net proudly
announce their latest project: The Vancouver Palladium.
Modeled after the concept of the
classic Palladium Ballroom in New York, at which the
1950s mambo craze started, The Vancouver Palladium
will be Vancouver's only dance hall nightclub dedicated
to salsa dancing every night of the week.
The Vancouver Palladium
is being constructed in the light industrial area between
Main Street and Cambie Street, close to the Olympic
Athletes Village. The project developers have already
received building permits and approval from the City
of Vancouver, and construction is set to begin immediately
with a completion date and Grand Opening Celebration
planned for a year from now: April 1, 2010.
Gregor Robertson, Vancouver
Mayor and occasional salsa dancer, says, "This
is another important milestone in Vancouver's goal of
becoming a world class city. I'm really glad to see
the developer's plans include valet bicycle parking." |
| |
| "We're extremely excited about
this project," says Jennifer Perry of SalsaVancouver.net.
"It's something we've been dreaming about for a few
years now and we can't believe our dreams are really coming
true! It's going to be an amazing building and a fantastic
venue for Vancouver's salsa dancers." |

Details: The Dance Hall
The ground floor
of The Vancouver Palladium building
will house a beautiful and ornate 8,000 square foot
ballroom (pictured right in designer's rendering) with
a sprung dance floor made of reconditioned wood (walnut,
oak and mahogany) salvaged from demolished dance halls
in Miami and Havana, Cuba.
There will be two stages, at either
end of the dance hall, for live salsa bands and dance
performances, and the entire venue will be equipped
with state-of-the-art sound and lighting.
Around the outer edges of the dance
floor will be tiered mezzanine levels with seating,
for viewing performances and concerts. |
| |
Dance
Studios and other facilities
The second floor of the The Vancouver Palladium,
above the dance hall, will consist of dance studios,
rehearsal spaces and yoga studios that will be available
to local dance instructors, dance groups, yoga and pilates
instructors, and community organizations. |
| |
Roof-top
dance floor
The roof top level will have a a 5,000 square foot outdoor
dance floor adjacent to a 3,000 square foot heated swimming
pool, a pool-side bar and 30-table restaurant, all covered
by a retractable roof for dancing under the stars in
the summer months.
Spa and Complementary Foot massages
The women's restroom and lounge on the main
floor will include a spa offering complementary foot
massages by certified massage therapists.
Child Care and Partners Lounge
Other facilities will include a complementary
child care centre available to parents attending events
or dance lessons, a luxurious lounge for non-dancing
partners and spouses, complete with computer stations,
wireless internet, video games and 60-inch plasma HD TVs. |
| |
| Grand
Opening
Planned celebrations
for the Grand Opening of The Vancouver
Palladium, on April 1 2010,
include the Vancouver debut of international Latin
superstar Marc Anthony.
"I can never say no to
a beautiful woman," commented Marc. "When
Jennifer asked if I would perform at the grand
opening of the Vancouver Palladium, I said, 'Si,
cualquier cosa para ti, porque... tu amor me hace
bien'." |

Financing to be provided by the BC
