(PLEASE NOTE: THIS WAS AN APRIL FOOLS DAY JOKE)

We at SalsaVancouver.net are very excited to announce a tasty new direction for our website:
SalsaVancouver.sabor!

It's a spicy new world out there for salsa lovers in Vancouver and it's time for a fiesta for your taste buds.

Check out some of the exciting things we have planned...

Salsa literally means 'sauce' in Spanish, and in Latin America it refers to any type of sauce, but here in North America salsa usually means the spicy, tomato-based hot sauces typical of Mexican cuisine, particularly those used as dips.

Workshop: Salsa On Two Chips
April 1st

with Roger 'Hot Tamale' Chenito

In this special workshop, Roger Chenito, better known to local salseros as 'Hot Tamale', will teach how salsa on two chips tastes better than on one chip.

Says Roger, "I'm known for my flawless ability to dip on one or on two chips at a time, but dammit, salsa on two chips just tastes better!"

Workshop: Cuban Salsa On Round Chips
April 1st

with Julio Montero

In this workshop local Cuban Salsa expert Julio Montero will teach Cuban salsa on circular chips.

Says Julio, "Salsa on round chips is more authentic and it's more fun when your friends can join in and enjoy salsa with you."

Salsa DVD Release Party
April 1st

featuring Ronald and Sanaa Martinez

Local salsa lovebirds Ron & Sanaa are very excited about the DVD release party this weekend for their new DVD 'Bringing Sexy Back to Your Salsa'.

Ron and Sanaa will be teaching a special class at the party, featuring dipping on one chip combinations.

Reactions from local salseros...

Ella says, 'I'm more of a salsa on one chip girl, because I have a small mouth.'

'Salsa's great as long as it's not too spicy and the chips aren't too salty,' says Eugenia.

Irene wonders what all the fuss is about, stating 'why can't people just eat and enjoy all the flavours?'

'We don't have salsa in Scotland, but I've discovered it's delicious with haggis,' says Margaret.

Niki says she's 'ok with any salsa, as long as people don't double dip!'

'Screw the chips, I eat salsa straight from the bowl with a spoon, the hotter the better,' says Ivan.

Jennifer and Stephen of SalsaVancouver.sabor say, 'Happy April Fools Day everyone!'
